Orange Business Services IT&L@bs

From 2007 to 2010, I was an Engineer in Orange Business Services IT&L@bs formely Groupe Silicomp-AQL, in Systems & Networks area.

Here are some of my main projects in this group:

  • RIP Project - Participation to studies for the RIP6 standard (Réseaux IP Sécurisés Interopérables Standardisés), for Thales Communication. This standard is aimed at protecting sensitive and classified information in IP environment for governmental cryptographic devices.
  • DCN Project - Specification and development of dedicated tools concerning robustess and performance aspects for a test campaign on a secured filtering gateway using some proprietary network protocols.
  • Not public Projects:
    • Specification of a 3-Tier architecture for a platform intented to exchange medical information.
    • In a mobile phone context, development of a SGBD solution using Btree (Balanced Tree) to handle base access faster than current solutions available on the market in order to associate temporary and permanent identifiers
  • France Télécom R&D (Now Orange Lab)
    • Development of a proof of concept for teleoperating IP Phones. This mechanism is generic, adaptative to any IP Phone without some more development and protected thanks to SSHv2 tunnels. Specification of the choosen solution for a production purpose.
    • Studies, analysis, validation and comparaison of different WAN acceleration/optimisation mechanisms and solutions.
      These kind of solutions improves TCP, Applicative protocols and considers a few QoS aspects (Classification, Marking, Queuing, Shaping & Policing at the Edge).
      TCP optimisations mechanisms include in particular :
      • Congestion avoidance algorithms;
      • SACK/DSACK to limit retransmissions during losts or packet disorders;
      • Windows Scaling to handle Windows greater than 64KB;
      • TCP Proxies with Bigger TCP Buffers;
      • Compression mechanisms such as LZ or Data Redundancy Elimination on TCP Payloads.
      Applicative optimisations take into account protocols such as :
      • CIFS (SMBv1/SMBv2, SMB Signing);
      • MAPI (encrypted or not);
      • HTTP;
      • SSL.
    • Integration Studies of WAN Optimisation/Acceleration solutions on Private/Public clouds
